Automation & Robotics
Automation revolution is underway and a new breed of engineers is required to fulfill the need of modern industry. The college started state's first bachelors degree course in Automation and Robotics in the year 2009 with an intake of 30 students.
The Automation and Robotics program prepares students for design, interface, installation and troubleshooting of industrial automation systems. Emphasis is on electronics, electrical controls, motors, programmable logic controllers, servo systems, robotics, hydraulics and pneumatics, and mechanical systems. Students will integrate electronics and electrical controls with mechanical systems and programmable controllers and explore alternative trade-offs in the process of problem-solving and troubleshooting.
Graduating engineers will be capable to work and excel in national and international companies to work on
innovative technical projects. The department is developing state of the art Infrastructure to meet the industry
standards. In this direction the college has signed an MOU with Bosch Rexroth, Germany to setup a centre for
industrial automation as a joint venture at a cost of Rs. 4.2 crores.
The department is currently fostering two student forums, Robotics club and Aeromodelling club and the students mentored by the department have won many accolades at state and national levels.
