Mechanical Engineering

The department offers an Under-Graduate Program in Mechanical Engineering that covers a wide range of courses in the fields of thermal and fluid sciences, engineering design, dynamics and control, materials and manufacturing and modeling and simulation; to suit the interests of students & meet the lndustry requirements. The Department also offers a Post Graduate Program in Energy Systems Engineering and has the distinction of being recognized as a Research Center by Visvasvaraya Technological University, Belgaum. A sophisticated range of equipment, state-of-the-art facilities and well-equipped labs ensure that students get the very best of practical training. The CAD/CAM laboratory ls well equipped to train the students in using ANSYSS, Pro-E, ADAMS, Catia, Hyperrnesh, LS Dyna, ZW CAD, ESPIRIT CAM, AutoCAD 2000, and NISA. A CNC laboratory with CNC tuming center and CNC milling machine and a robot serve as a flexible manufacturing system. lntemal combustion engines laboratory is a hub of research activities.Computerized test~rig, biodiesel plant, downdraft gasifler, CNG and LPG supply lines along with sophisticated emission measuring equipment cater to the research activities in the area of alternative fuels for l.C. Engines. The college has entered into an MOU with, Bosch Rexroth India Ltd (BRIN) to set up 'Centre of Competence in Automation Technologles', which will help in making our students lndustry ready and more employable. A unique Energy Park set up by the Department disseminates information on non-conventional energy sources to the entire region of North Kamataka. The Association of Mechanical Engineering Students (AMES) fosters leadership qualities and channelizes the aptitude of the students. The Department of Mechanical Engineering ls proud to have an illustrious faculty that has ensured a high degree of success for its pupils who have done exceedingly well, all over the world. Teaching and learning activities are geared to stimulate intellectual curiosity, creativity and innovation.
